Farmers, Pikeys and Towni-Country Folk
There is a battle raging and it's being fought behind the mainstream and in England’s home counties. With the demise of the farming Industry into a mechanised system the villages were wasted of its farm workers. Many emigrated to the colonies or moved to the Industrial towns to find work. Gypsies who relied on the summer work in the fields lost there profession as well... The result has been dramatic:
Townies moved into the villages, renamed dormitory villages, they have now become towni-country folk... they don't work in the rural areas they commute to the towns and return just to sleep, only venturing out on weekends to live the towni-country life. There are certain regulations to being towni-country, the first, on moving to the country, is to immediately install a wood burner in your home. The second is to shove some chickens in your backgarden. The third is to have raised vegetable plots. The fourth is to buy a four wheel drive.
On installing the wood burner they realise they need logs, so to start with they spend a fortune on seasoned logs from B&Q. When they understand they need lots of logs they start to order a truck load. Then they look at there gardens and notice some trees in them, so they get some local cowboys to cut those down for the wood. After removing all the trees and getting fed up with having to get logs in and start a fire after 12 hours at work they put the central heating back on.
The chickens end up being eaten by the foxes or stolen by pikeys, yet they replenish their stocks... they are feeding the foxes and the underclass, it's there form of charity. The raised beds get put up because they saw it on a television program, so it must be good. On buying the ready made kit to do this for an extortionate amount of money they plant up the veg and then leave it until it all flowers and rots because by the time its ready for harvest they have already lost interest in it. It's quicker to order online from Tesco.
